"Freedom requires religion, just as religion requires freedom. Freedom opens the windows of the soul so that man can discover his most profound beliefs and commune with God. Freedom and religion endure together, or perish alone," he said.
So says Mitt. I can't believe that this guy is seriously seeking the presidency. Has he not read the constitution? Does he not understand that our founders purposely separated religion from affairs of the state? To say that religion is the only way to find one's personal self is completely and utterly insane. I would say Mitt will be as fundamentally bad for the separation of church and state as Bush is now based on statements like this.

Greg, Greg, Greg, Our fore fathers built this country on the Christian faith and it's beliefs. One Nation under God. In God we trust. Hello! Our fore fathers are shaking their heads in Heaven wondering how we allowed our country to get so messed up and immoral.
Anonymous, anonymous, anonymous, You are going to go through every old post here and make a comment aren't you.
You really should not post about history as you are showing your ignorance.
Our country was founded in 1776 and our constitution (the LAWS OF OUR LAND) was adopted in 1787.
"One nation under god" comes from our pledge of allegiance. This was not even written until 1892 and it did not even contain this phrase until 1954. All our founding fathers were long dead and dust by then.
In God We Trust also did not exist until 1956.
You fundies need to stop revising history. Our founders did not establish a Christian nation.
This is my country. I love this country. I am an atheist. Deal with it!
