Happy New Year and Welcome to 2017. This year promises to be tumultuous at best, thus my PAP - PreAppocolyptic Post.
After eight years of a scandal-free Obama presidency served with more decorum than anyone could imagine, we are about to embark on a long and arduous journey through a Trump reign. It's sure to be entertaining, if not down right disastrous. We have our own problems right here in North Dakota with a new millionaire businessman governor and an idiotic supermajority in our legislature hell bent on lining their pockets at the expense of ND Citizens. So I thought I would resurrect Diatomaceous Earth. It seems there will be renewed demand for highly efficient filtration products to remove all the bullshit. We'll see if I have the will and the stamina to do the job.

When do we start arresting the wingnuts?
Where the hell is the secret service and FBI? These lunatics need to be in jail.
Why am I not surprised Rapist Garrido was a Religious Lunatic?
This morning when I typed the name Phillip Garrido into google I half expected to see something interesting besides the news reports from the last couple days. This is the guy who kidnapped 11 year old Jaycee Dugard 18 years ago, kept her locked in a shed and fathered two children by her. I suspected he was crazy but I didn't realize the depths of craziness that could exist. I kind of expected he might have some strange religious ideas. I found his blog, Voices Revealed. All I can say is, wow!
He thinks God sends messages for him for the earth and he has built a device that lets people witness that he can control sound with his mind. Um . . what? Here are some of his lunatic ravings.
During the month of July 2009 JM's Enterprises, 1215 Willow Pass Road * Pittsburg CA,(925) 439-8118 was the host to a powerful demonstration, the Creator has given me the ability to speak in the tongue of angels in order to provide a wake-up call that will in time include the salvation of the entire world.
You too can witness what the world believe's is impossible to produce! email: godsdesire@rocketmail.com. DON'T MISS OUT!
Um, yeah. What?
This document is to affirm that I Phillip Garrido have clearly demonstrated the ability to control sound with my mind and have developed a device for others to witness this phenomena. by using a sound generator to provide the sound, and a headphone amplification system, ( a device to focuc your hearing so as to increase the sensitivity of what one is listening to) I have produced a set of voices by effectively controlling the sound to pronounce words through my own mental powers.
I'm sure there are many hearing disabled people out there that could make use of a device that sill focuc (sic) your hearing. How exactly does he pronounce words through mental powers though?
This sick bastard really thinks he is called by God to save the world.
THIS WITNESS IS TO GAIN THE ATTENTION OF UNBELIEVERS WORLD WIDE, INCLUDING SCIENTIST, PHYSICIST AND EDUCATORS. WHY? TO BEGIN A MAJOR WAKE UP CALL THAT ALLOWS THE REST OF THE WORLD TO TURN AND KNOW THAT HE EXISTS AND IS DESIRING THAT EVERYONE COME TO KNOW HIM.
I'm sure this is not the end of the story. Truly a crackpot.

Deathers say FU to Grandma
Unbelievable. Because stupid idiotic deathers like Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin are too fucking stupid to read and get confused easily, Grandma gets no help facing end of life decisions. Way to fucking go stupid fucking idiots.
Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa, top Republican on the Senate Finance Committee, said in a statement Thursday that the provision had been dropped from consideration because it could be misinterpreted or implemented incorrectly.
And fuck you too, Chuck. What on Earth are you idiots thinking? You know and I know that that provision had nothing to do with euthanasia and everything to do with allowing elderly facing difficult decisions to decide their own living wills. I'm sorry, but FUCK ALL OF YOU!

Nate Silver has a great analysis of the latest job numbers and the trends in our recovering economy. Do we have Obama to thank? I think so.

The Fundamentals of our Economy are Strong?
I thought we answered this question in November. I guess there are some who just can't pull their heads out of their asses. Did they not see the headlines yesterday about Microsoft laying off 5000 people?

It's just a joke
You would think that after the November election where the republicans got their racist bigoted asses handed to them on a platter that they would starting thinking about not offending people with their racist bullshit. Apparently not. To celebrate the birth of Jesus the RNC Chairman candidate, Chip Saltsman, created a CD full of wonderful songs with titles such as:
Barack the Magic Negro
Star Spanglish Banner
Ebony and Ivory
This is satire? Just a lighthearted joke? Sorry fucktwads, you don't get it. You are racist scum.

The Entrenchment of Ignorance
It seems Bush is bound and determined to make his disastrous policies last far beyond his time in office. He is entrenching many of his ignorant political appointees into permanent positions within the government. You can read about it in this story from the Washing ton Post. This is scary enough but it is most scary when done with positions that require a high level of education like working for scientific agencies. Like this wholly unqualified person:
The list goes on and on . .
*sigh*
In one recent example, Todd Harding -- a 30-year-old political appointee at the Energy Department -- applied for and won a post this month at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. There, he told colleagues in a Nov. 12 e-mail, he will work on "space-based science using satellites for geostationary and meteorological data." Harding earned a bachelor's degree in government from Kentucky's Centre College, where he also chaired the Kentucky Federation of College Republicans.Really? Someone who's resume amounts to chairing a group of college republicans is qualified to work at NOAA? Give me a break, George!
The list goes on and on . .

Representative Carlson says we Democrtats are to blame
At least it seems that way from his statements today in the Bismarck Tribune.
N.D. GOP names leadersJust what does he mean by that? does Al really think Democrats have ripped apart America? At a time when we need more than ever to work together, his divisive and outlandish comments are not welcome.

Republican House and Senate members tapped their legislative leaders for the 2009 session Wednesday night, which was marked by a changing of the guard in the House leadership while the Senate's stayed the same.
Fargo Rep. Al Carlson is now the House majority leader after earning the unanimous support from his fellow House Republicans at their caucus meeting at the Doublewood Inn.
"The people have elected us as Republicans to be the responsible majority," said Carlson, a House member since 1993 who served as chairman of the government operations appropriations standing committee. "They put us back in a year when the Democrats took this country and tore it upside down."

Joe got it right
by Bruce Plante at Tulsa World
At least Joe got one vote right. Don't get me wrong. I'm delighted as all heck that Obama won in a landslide victory. But I can't help but feel trepidation about some of the not so good votes that happened yesterday.
Ted the convicted felon was elected in Alaska.
Michelle Bachmann the neo-McCarthyist was elected in Minnesota.
Norm Coleman may eek out a win in Minnesota.
Proposition 8 looks like it will pass in California.
Antigay measures have passed in Arizona, Arkansas, and Florida.
We may have elected our first non-white president but that does not mean racism and bigotry in America is dead. Far from it. There's plenty of work left to do.
Take a day or two off but then think about how we can help Obama really change this country.

This victory alone is not the change we seek. It is only the chance for us to make that change. And that cannot happen if we go back to the way things were.
It can't happen without you, without a new spirit of service, a new spirit of sacrifice.
So let us summon a new spirit of patriotism, of responsibility, where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other.

A Republican Stands up for What is Right
Republican Mayor of San Deigo, Jerry Sanders, gives an emotional press conference to explain why he is supporting same sex marriage in his city.
McCain wouldn't do this. Palin certainly wouldn't do this. Obama and Biden didn't do this. They balked. Hillary Clinton didn't do this either. A white male republican from San Diego had the courage.

Separate Church and State - Vote no on Prop 8
Californians, you need to get out and vote. There has been a lot of discussion about Proposition 8 that would take away rights from thousands of Californians. You better believe this is exactly the kind of church/state issue that many of us worry about. THis kind of discrimination does not belong in any state constitution.
This is one of the better ads I've seen against Prop 8.

McCain-Palin? Bipartisan?
I don't think so! They don't even want to talk to anyone who is a democrat.
McCain-Palin Campaign Snubs Penn State President
Well, it seems they don't want any young people attending their rallies either. Even if you do vote for McCain.
McCain-Palin Campaign Snubs Penn State President
"He's a big Democrat. Why would he want to meet Palin?" campaign aide Russell Bermel allegedly asked a school employee who was hoping to make arrangements for president Graham B. Spanier to meet Palin, according to Spanier's office.
"I welcome eminent visitors to our campus everyday, including lots of Republicans, but [the McCain-Palin campaign] didn't want me to greet her or even attend the event," said Spanier.
